Bournville Young Singers Gala ConcertAt 6pm on 24 April 2016, Bournville Young Singers will be joined by the Frankfurt Cathedral Girls and Boys Choir for an evening of singing the Ruddock Performing Arts Centre at King Edward's School in Edgbaston.

Frankfurt & Birmingham: Celebrating 50 years in partnershipThe visit by the Frankfurt choir marks 50 years of twinning between Frankfurt and Birmingham and will also help to celebrate Bournville Young Singers' 30th anniversary.

Scratch Youth Orchestra, Jazz Quintet, Bournville Graduates, soprano Rebecca Schneider, and invited friends and former members of Bournville Young Singers will also be performing as guests of Bournville Young Singers.

The music on the evening will include extracts from Ocean World by Rose and Conlon, Gloria by Vivaldi, Moon Incantations by choir patron Liz Johnson, 'Zimbe', and a new work, 'Zadok Rules! Hallelujah!' by Alexander L'Estrange, who is also a patron of Bournville Young Singers.

Cllr Len Gregory will also be attending, accompanied by his wife Gill. Cllr Gregory has a long and distinguished career with Birmingham City Council, including service as Lord Mayor between 2010 and 2011. He and his wife will be representing the council on behalf of the current Lord Mayor, Cllr Ray Hassall, who is unable to attend.
